The New Balance 1500 has been a steady presence since the brand’s last sneakerhead flashbulb moment, a period in the 2010s when it was the most coveted product coming out of Boston. Could the silhouette be poised for another shift of that caliber? A recently-unveiled Salehe Bembury collab raises the chances, but mainline editions will have to do some of the heavy lifting as well, a task that the New Balance 1500 “Sea Salt” seems suited for.
Classic and clean is the concept here, a a heft dose of the foregrounded “Sea Salt” draping the usual pigskin suede and mesh up top. The layered underfoot unit, by contrast, gets a dose of beige tonality, creating a subtle contrast sole that adds some classy appeal to enhance the simplistic overall palette.
Though carrying the Made In UK banner, these will likely see a global release in the coming weeks. The New Balance 1000 “Sea Salt” will arrive carrying a $230 retail price. Keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates landing page for further updates on when to expect this pair.
