Working in descending order, the earthy palette then draped the Air Force 2 in 2003, before becoming fully street-ready with the Air Force 1 in 2005. Nigo debuting his own Air Force 3 inspired by the shoe in the early cycle for the eventual public release also gave an extra shot in the arm to the archival colorway.

As the shoe nears its 20th birthday, the 2025 Air Force 1 “Escape” revives the shoe in faithful fashion, ushered in with the suede overlays each delivering complementary shades of brown, the black liner and overall trim, and one of the most lasting aspects, a perforated leather quarter panel that matches the toe-box.
