Luka Doncic May Make Lakers Debut In The Jordan Luka 3 “Purple Comet”

It still feels a bit surreal: Luka Doncic is a Los Angeles Laker. The fallout from what’s easily the most shocking trade in NBA history continues to trickle down, and while it’s no doubt secondary to the future of the Lakers and Mavericks, we of course immediately turned to footwear. Such a momentous career shift for one of Jordan Brand’s premier signees will resultantly change the arc of his signature shoe, but the latest Luka 3 “Purple Comet” presents a serendipitous opportunity.

The transaction’s colossal effects and lack of telegraphing has emboldened the NBA conspiracy set (“frozen envelope,” anyone?) but we’ll prematurely quash any theories with this latest Luka 3. While the purple overtones on this pair align well with Doncic’s new digs, it’s an expression of the flashy colorways that’ve marked his signature line throughout his time in Beaverton rather than a pre-planned tie-in. The increase in market size has to be exciting for the Jordan team all the same though, and sporting this pair for his debut in purple and gold would certainly be one way to capitalize on that.

The Jordan Luka 3 “Purple Comet” releases on February 18th, retailing for $130. Check ahead for official images and check back in around the shoe’s launch for updated “Where To Buy” links.
