Jacquemus Is Bringing Back The Nike Moon Shoe

Unveiled at Paris Fashion Week.

Jacquemus Is Bringing Back The Nike Moon Shoe

Nike has been scouring its archive for a potential competitor to the adidas Samba, with the Beaverton brand bringing back on-trend, slim models like the Field General, LD-1000, and Air Superfly to name a few notables. Now it’s reaching back even further by resurrecting one of the first ever Nike shoes and one of the most consequential sneakers of all time. The Nike Moon Shoe is primed to return, shown here by way of a collaboration between Nike and Jacquemus.

The 1972-born Moon Shoe is the brainchild of Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman, who invented the now-iconic waffle sole by pouring rubber into a waffle iron. It’s never found its way back into the Nike catalog (there have been spinoff versions), but sneakerheads got schooled on Moon Boot lore when a vintage pair sold for nearly a half million USD back in 2019.

The Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe was first unveiled at Paris Fashion Week and aptly stays close to the model’s identity with a pre-aged aesthetic. Most of the sneaker appears in yellow, mimicking the effects of oxidization, contrasted by black treatments on the Swoosh and branded tongue.

Release information for the Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe hasn’t been made available yet, but we’ll updated this article as well as our Sneaker Release Dates page once everything becomes clear. For now, enjoy detailed images below.
