Matt Varga The era of the Fear of God Athletics Basketball II is officially upon us. After a debut capsule for the Mid and Low cut in Holiday 2024, Lorenzo’s hoops model is surging forward with matching “Putty Beige” editions set to land on March 8th.
The neutral tones that have coursed through the adidas Fear of God catalog live on here, pasting “Putty Beige” on the cut-out upper of both shoes, while adding some fiery contrast with a barely-orange midsole and a more vibrant FoG badge on the heel. If you’ve been tapped into Lorenzo’s comments as his Three Stripes career has stretched on, you’ll know that the silhouette carries tooling better befitting actual on-court use, and so far, at least a few pros have stamped their seal of approval: the Los Angeles Lakers’ Gabe Vincent has exclusively hooped in the Mid cut since October.
Though it hasn’t been a particularly long layoff, this does still mark the first appearance of the Basketball II since the introduction of the Fear of God Trainer. While always positioned as the “truest” execution of what Lorenzo had dreamed of for Fear of God Athletics’ step into Hoops, this nonetheless redoubles that commitment and shows the silhouette will continue to be a player as the months draw on.
