“Determination Over Negativity” reaches a seventh chapter as Donovan Mitchell’s adidas DON Issue 7 signature shoe has been revealed.
The 7th model introduces a zippered shroud to the signature line for the first time, adding a retro-future element related to the brand’s IIINFINITY line of footwear. The recently revealed Converse Shai 001 also features a zipper, injecting a lifestyle-friendly quality to the silhouette (depending on the colorway).
On the latest Donovan Mitchell shoes, the German brand’s three-stripes logo placement skews towards the unconventional as it appears via a curved positioning on the mid-foot and stretching down into the midsole. At the forefoot is a warped grid-like pattern, while the exposed carbon fiber plate at the mid-foot provides the security and stability that Mitchell needs when he’s dashing around the hardwood floor. The Don 7 is also the first basketball shoe by adidas to feature full-length Lightstrike Pro.
It is not clear if Mitchell will lace up the new shoes for the All-Star Game. However, adidas confirms a release this Summer 2025 season.
