Back with "Nike Air" for the first time since 1990.

Detailed Look At The Air Jordan 5 “Fire Red” With Black Tongue

After being confirmed in November of 2024, detailed images of the black tongue “Fire Red” Jordan 5 retro have emerged.

This is one of three original colorways to get shine for the model’s 35th anniversary alongside the “Black Metallic Reimagined” and “Grape.” We got a silver tongue retro in 2020, but the black tongue design hasn’t reared its head since 2013. Both versions released in 1990, but the silver tongue didn’t come with “23” on the lateral side. The black tongue, meanwhile, was the only OG colorway to feature that now fan-favorite quality.

Importantly, the 2025 black tongue retro comes with “Nike Air” on the heel for the first time since its original 1990 release. We’re expecting there to be a ton of energy around the drop, especially considering that the “Black Metallic Reimagined” was a smash hit.
