Sabrina Ionescu’s Family Bonds Inspire The Nike Sabrina 2 “Stronger Than Gold”

Sabrina Ionescu’s Family Bonds Inspire The Nike Sabrina 2 “Stronger Than Gold”

Not many can put together the gilded summer that Sabrina Ionescu did in 2024. On top of helping secure Team USA’s fifth straight gold medal, the former #1 pick tacked the New York Liberty’s first-ever WNBA championship just a few months later. However, the latest look for her signature shoe asserts that the trophy case is ultimately secondary, a narrative that plays out with the Nike Sabrina 2 “Stronger Than Gold.”

Multiple reports tie this colorway, notably worn by Ionescu during said WNBA Finals, to a bracelet handed to Sabrina from her mother. That’d certainly go a long way in explaining the moniker, but undoubtedly the Liberty star’s already stacked list of accomplishments also works into the design. Additionally, the look ties into the battle-hardened edge of the Swoosh’s recent “So Win” campaign. Fittingly, this “Stronger Than Gold” Sabrina 2 was on Ionescu’s feet in many of the effort’s most visible materials.

Aesthetically, a metallic Swoosh and “S” logo on the tongue complemented with a range of tan and beige shades throughout. Within those largely tonal bounds, a camouflaged eye-stay manages to break up the earthen palette.

The Nike Sabrina 2 “Stronger Than Gold” is currently listed for a March 6th release date via retailers, interestingly listed at $135, a slight bump from the usual $13.. Check out official images included below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page in mind for direct links upon arrival.
