The Nike Pegasus Wave Slips Into “Light Orewood Brown”

The Nike Pegasus 2K5 has been a much-needed win for the Beaverton brand, but can the reinforced Pegasus Wave reach a similar level of success? It certainly speaks to the gorpcore crowd, but historically speaking, sneakerheads tend to favor OGs more than spinoff models. Additionally, considering the model’s $160 price tag and likeminded “Drift” versions of the Air Max Plus and Air Max 90, it’s proven hard for the Pegasus Wave to stand out in a crowded field.

As the model passes six months on shelves, Nike is touching down with a “Light Orewood Brown” colorway with “Ashen Slate” detailing. The TPU cage structure features a subtle gradient, the toe cap is comprised of hairy suede, and padded canvas covers the tongue and toe box. Rope laces make their usual appearance, and wide mesh stretches down from the collar to the quarter; just barely peeking through the rib-inspired cutouts. This is probably the most lifestyle-focused Pegasus Wave we’ve seen thus far, with preceding colorways favoring more vibrant, sporty makeups reminiscent of 2000s runners.

The Pegasus Wave “Light Orewood Brown” carries the usual $160 shelf price and will arrive in men’s sizes for Spring/Summer 2025. See official images below if you’re planning on trying out a pair.
