Over the course of the next couple of months, we’ll be treated to some of the most attention-grabbing releases from the Jumpman in recent memory, chalking off the Jordan 12 “Flu Game,” Nigel Sylvester Jordan 4, and Jordan 5 “Grape” between March and April. Though perhaps not as vaunted as those aforementioned silhouettes, don’t sleep on the Air Jordan 9 “Cool Grey,” checking off another classic edition in that stacked stretch run.

Again, while generally, the Air Jordan 9 hasn’t elicited the same hype as its peers in the catalog, this particular colorway has all the right components to be appointment viewing. In an “absence makes the heart grow fonder” sense, the pair returning after 13 years on ice likely goes the furthest in explaining, but the shoe shares the steely colorway that made the Air Jordan 11 of the same name become a modern classic, now often classed with true OGs like the “Bred” and “Concord.”

Additionally, while similar bring-backs have been marred by slight tweaks that throw long-time collectors off the scent, this is a true retro in every sense of the word, retailing the color-blocking and slight detailing that made these a hit way back in 2022.

The Air Jordan 9 is set for a March 15th release, retailing for $210 in adult sizing. Full family sizing will also be included, with GS and TD pairs carrying sticker prices of $160 and $120, respectively.
