Andrew Rizzo With the adidas Samba being one of the trendiest sneakers on the market, adidas expanded its breadth with a handful of super-luxurious “Made In Italy” releases in 2024. As a natural next step for the growing sub-brand, adidas is plotting to release an equally premium (and equally pricey) take on another terrace classic; the Gazelle Indoor.
The sneaker comes in all-black, essentially letting premium materials speak for themselves. Locally-sourced leather makes up the entire upper, save for a black suede T-toe for a bit of texture variety. Branded elements on the tongue, heel, and quarter are all debossed into the leather, accompanied by wax laces in the name of fine Italian dress shoes. Underfoot, adidas drops the traditional Gazelle Indoor sole in favor of a black rubber platform with a crepe-like bottom.
While not as pricy as the upcoming A-TYPE Superstar, the “Made In Italy” Gazelle Indoor isn’t exactly easy on the wallet at $350. For what it’s worth, adidas recently released a trio of aesthetically similar Gazelle Indoors that go for $140 (JH5415, JH5414, JI3508).
