A sophisticated look for the chunky "dad shoe."

The New Balance 1500 Oozes Contemporary Appeal In Light Tan

New Balance’s “Made In England” line is going all-in on “Quiet Luxury” for Spring/Summer 2025, teeing up tonal 991v2 and 1500 colorways that stay close to the brand’s core ethos. Several styles emerged via lookbook images back in February, but we’ll be breaking down each pair individually as official images emerge.

A lecture in “less is more,” this New Balance 1500 is anchored by a pale, contemporary shade of tan up top. As with most “Made In England” shoes, the central appeal is high-quality materials. Buttery suede and premium leather panels wrap a mesh base, all of which favor the light tan hue. The ENCAP midsole is a bit outdated in all honesty (the model debuted in 1989), but it should still be viable for all-day comfort.

No release date has been announced at the time of this writing, but the tan New Balance 1500 should begin cropping up at EU retailers soon. Expect a larger release via New Balance channels shortly thereafter.
