Incredibly Rare Air Jordan 11 “Purple Rain” Made For Prince Up For Sale For $100,000

In the world of sneakers, there’s no better honor that getting a one-of-one made from Jordan Brand. This Air Jordan 11 “Purple Rain” was made for the legendary musician Prince, but unfortunately the shoes never made it into his hands as he passed at the age of 57 back in 2016.

According to @depeche23mode, only one air of the Air Jordan 11 “Purple Rain” was ever produced, and it’s currently in his possession and up for sale at a whopping $100,000.

With the elegant Air Jordan 11 in tow, Jordan Brand crafted an all-purple colorway featuring luxurious velvet mudguards and a suede upper and tongue construction. A matching purple is seen in the opaque bottoms, while a clean white adorns the midsole as well as the lettering on the tongue-stripe. The Jumpman logo at the ankle is blessed with metallic silver.

Further stamping the authenticity of this design is the custom insoles, which feature “Jumpman” done in Prince’s iconic typeface as well as imagery of falling rain — a nod to the song Purple Rain which is long considered his crowning achievement.

Again, just one pair exists, and it may land in the hands of a collector with deep pockets due to the incredible $100,000 price-tag.
