The Pigeon Dunk Colorway Appears On A Dwyane Wade Li-Ning Collaboration

The Pigeon Dunk Colorway Appears On A Dwyane Wade Li-Ning Collaboration

Staple is suddenly very much back in the mix. On top of opening a flagship at the historic 21 Mercer address, their work with Brooks Running helped re-announce the running brand in the lifestyle space. As news of the streetwear brand’s following collection begins to trickle out, they’re switching countries entirely, jumping from Gotham to Guangxi with a wide-ranging Staple x Li-Ning collaboration.

Though three Way of Wade pairs shine as the faces of this link-up, Li-Ning models without Dwayne’s stamp make up one half of what’s on offer. Likely the most digestible is a ping pong silhouette with a cup sole, potentially a new model entering the catalog via this collab. Even without a full tech breakdown, the metallic silver shades and flash of pink in the midsole make suitable lifestyle wear to kick off the collection. Though not pictured here, the Shadow CRC 2.0 is reportedly also included, capitalizing on the shrinking borders between performance and fashion with a distressed, steely take on one of Li-Ning’s foremost runners.

The now-ineffable combination of grey and pink that has become a Staple calling card and has often followed the brand through non-Nike collaborations (Reebok, PUMA, and Ewing, to name a few.) On the two Way of Wade 1 Low colorways, the first executes the theme in a pretty standard fashion. Concrete grey takes up most of the shoe, including on a speckled midsole, while the pigeon creeps on the suede heel counter. The other opts for a more modern interpretation, utilizing a pink-to-grey gradient moving from the toe to the rear of the shoe, a fresh twist on the signature, and a novel inclusion overall, especially on a basketball model.

Finally, we cut to Wade’s latest signature, the Way of Wade 10, to catch the NYC brand further pushing the experimental envelope. Though the patented color scheme still pops down the foot entrance, the rest of the shoe ventures into vibrant multi-color, including a… creative interpretation of animal biology via the splatter graphic at the toe.

As of this writing, release particulars are unclear for this Li-Ning Staple collaboration, but each shoe has already been revealed in explicit detail. Catch these shots included below and watch this page for further updates on when you can aim to grab yours.
