As the Nike Air Jordan 1 High has tumbled in cultural cachet, Nike has taken strides to instead foreground its low-cut sibling. Undoubtedly riding the increased push that Travis Scott shoes brought to the silhouette, the Jumpman continues to bring beloved colorways from Mike’s earnest first signature to the Jordan 1 Low OG cut, materializing once again with the “Obsidian” at hand. Keeping to the same color-blocking as the original 2018 release, off-white leather defines the shoe’s foundation, with navy overlays giving way to the titular light blue coloring on the collar.

Zooming out from this particular reimagining, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Obsidian” will soon be joined by another re-cut from that same year, the Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Rookie of the Year.” Though that’s the extent of the shortened classics that we’ve seen so far, reliable reports have “Storm Blue,” and “Chicago” pairs coming later this year, as well as collaborative efforts from Swarovski and Nigel Sylvester.
