Matt Varga It’s only natural that we and the basketball public at large are still processing the Luka Doncic trade — hell, his return to Dallas is only a few weeks in the rear view at the time of this writing. However, his next chapter is well underway, with a first round matchup against the Timberwolves the first real test of his Lakers tenure. So too are his latest offerings for Jordan Brand in the spotlight, with both the tentpole Luka 4 and outside hoops offshoot Luka .77 kicking off their first crop of releases, including the “Back To School” look that just surfaced.
Given that this shoe is really landing at the antipole of “Back To School” season, almost assuredly there’s a more abstract connection to Doncic doling out “you reach, I teach” style lessons to cadres of defenders. Despite that, the cleaned-up “Triple White” aesthetics on display are certainly uniform-like, almost presenting as an early “Team Bank” edition that should mesh well with any jersey requirements you’ve got. The only interruptions come with ice blue in the center of the outsole and a new heart logo sown into the tongue.
The aesthetics should go a long way in helping you pick out which colorway to grab, but if you’re still on the fence about the model in general, look to the dual-density foam in the midsole, Air Zoom cushioning and high abrasion mesh in the upper as you parse out whether this will join your outdoor ball rotation.
