The Nike Zoom Spiridon “Barely Volt” Drops On April 29th

The enduring dad shoe / mesh runner wave has prompted nearly every brand to do some soul searching, digging into their individual archives for retro models suited for the trend. Arguably no one is better suited for that than the Swoosh, revitalizing one of their best-recieved running models in the Nike Zoom Spiridon for another go-around. After checking off collab introductions with Undefeated and Fragment, Beaverton has turned over the reigns to their in-house designers, resulting in the “Barely Volt” edition at hand.

A far cry from the steely, sporty editions we’ve seen so far, this “Barely Volt” is easily the most vibrant colorway issued in this retro run, letting “Barely Volt” course through the shoe at the collar and piping outlining that same section. “Hot Punch” coats the 3M strip down the tongue and the Swoosh, while one final hi-vis note comes with the reflective pull tab in “Dusty Cactus.” To be sure, utilizing extremely vivid shades on running shoes is a formula we’ve seen plenty before, but we can’t help but draw through-lines to previous Spiridon editions in  “Volt” proper, or with offshoot silhouettes mirroring many of the same hues.

The Nike Zoom Spiridon “Barely Volt” is already queued up on US SNKRS for an April 29th release date, carrying the usual $160 sticker price. Keep our “Where To Buy” section within reach for direct pick-up links once these hit retailers.
