Get the tongs ready.

This Gum-Bottomed Nike Air Force 1 Will Be A Summer Cookout Staple

From NYC to Baltimore, gum bottoms are an integral part to the Air Force 1’s uprise in urban cities across the country. This summer, the Swoosh is centering the ’82 icon with a simple execution of colors and proper material construction to complete any rotation for the cookout.

Not to be confused your everyday white-on-white Air Force 1, this pair adds a slightly softer leather (which leads to far better creasing results) with tumbled finishes on the Swoosh logo. The tongue is swapped with a more breathable mesh exterior for that much-needed ventilation during the Summer, while gum bottoms in light yellow render these a fit for any stoop on the block. Nothing gets more classic Nike than an orange Swoosh logo; here it’s feature on the iconic logo hits on the tongue and heel-tab.

Nike created a black/white version with this same formula; we recently featured the shoes ahead of its Summer drop here.

Back to the topic, this white/gum AF1 is expected sometime this season for $130, a slightly higher price-tag than the standard Air Force 1’07.
