The Nike Shox TL Switches Into Aquatic “Obsidian”

A summery yet reigned-in colorway.

The Nike Shox TL Switches Into Aquatic “Obsidian”

Even the most stringent Shox fans likely couldn’t have predicted the sheer depth of Nike’s retro efforts for the cushioning tech, becoming a frequent sight throughout the Swoosh’s catalog over the past year and change. The Shox TL along with the Shox R4 have equally become the defining faces of that movement, with the former silhouette now taking on a cerulean-coated “Obsidian” colorway.

Eschewing the gradient looks that have defined many of the model’s recent looks (read: in the past few months), instead the shoe opts for a smattering of oceanic colors. The titular “Obsidian” navy coats the circular mesh underpinnings with a lighter royal coating the heartier back and forefoot panels. To round out what’s essentially a tri-tone upper, baby blue takes over the liner and the midsole swatch under the heel. Finally, to truly round out what this shoe brings to the table, the silhouette’s Y2K origins are on display with the “Metallic Silver” shot unit and sole.

The Nike Shox TL “Obsidian” will release as a part of Nike’s continuing Summer/Fall efforts, retailing for the usual $170 sticker price.
