Matt Varga Nike’s push of the Pegasus Wave isn’t losing any steam. While certainly a niche option compared to its parent model, the Pegasus 2k5, or sibling tech runners like the Vomero 5, there’s no doubt that it offers a more expressive counterpart to the well-represented Y2K shoes in the Swoosh’s archive.
It’s no shock that the model continues to be a frequent sight as we work through the Summer shopping season and enter summer (small s) in earnest. The mesh foundation that this silhouette relies on is perfectly at home in the warmer months, as are the delicate, vibrant shades that this “Coral Purple” pair wears. In short, this edition merges two different aesthetic themes we’ve seen building on the model, combining the gradient cage spotted on pairs like the “Knicks” edition with the brightened soles seen in “Light Armory Blue” and “Barely Volt.” Black outlines running throughout the upper round out the arrangement.
