Andrew Rizzo Through recent collaborations and in-house endeavors, adidas has never been more intertwined with high fashion. Sports will always define the core of the Three Stripes, but as a supplement to the Y-3 banner, contemporary, lifestyle-focused releases have seen a considerable uptick in recent years. To that end, adidas has released a “Quiet Luxury” pack comprised of two popular models; the adidas Samba and adidas SL 72.
For simplicity’s sake, both follow the same design formula. A white leather panel sets the stage on the quarter, giving way to mesh following the foremost stripe. The outermost layer, including the stripes, backtab, and t-toe overlays, blend in delicately with cream-colored leather. The Samba sticks to tradition with a brown gum sole, while the SL 72 features a slim brown streak across the top portion underfoot.
