adidas may wish that things went differently for James Harden and Damian Lillard in the 2025 NBA playoffs, but the bracket is currently looking favorable for two of their other tentpole athletes in Donovan Mitchell and Anthony Edwards. They’ve already leveraged that spotlight to reveal the adidas DON Issue 7, while a preview of the AE 2 remains on the table as Warriors-Timberwolves Game 1 looms. All of this is to say that the Three Stripes signature roster is in a great place, but don’t let it overshadow their inline options, with the MAD IIINFINITY and its just-released “Sand Strata” edition a perfect example.

Crafted as a futuristic expansion of Kobe Bryant’s signature line with adidas, the MAD IIINFINITY wears that eccentric DNA loud and proud, seen with the wavy, chunky design language that paces the model. If anything, the tonal “Sand Strata” colorway seen here tangibly speaks to the modernization effort of the Mamba’s footwear, presenting an on-trend pantone that the three stripes never would’ve chosen for a hoops shoe in that era. A TPU shank, synthetic leather toe and mesh/suede overlays allow for some visual depth even within the bounds of this all-over look.
