The fashion girlies are eating good with New Balance. Following the on-court reveal of their upcoming Miu Miu link-up, the Boston brand is finally letting loose a collaboration that’s been percolating for almost a year: the AURALEE New Balance 475.
“Sun-bleached” is the operative term in the brands’ official messaging, most evidently seen with the “Grey Day” style pair said to be an interpretation of an archival 475 left in the closet for decades, resulting in the subtle faux-aged midsole and the worn down appearance of the grey overlays. Outside of that heady inspo, this “London Fog” do-up aligns well with the well-worn aesthetics of their previous work, like on the New Balance 550. Similarly, though you can interpret the buttery yellow overtones of the “Aloe Wash” counterpart represent a more literal interpretation of the sunny concept, it’s also an application of signature golden AURALEE New Balance tonality once again, already touched upon with their WRPD Runner, RC30, and 1906R.
Both colorways of the AURALEE New Balance 475 are set for global launch on May 16th, retailing for $130. Note that only the grey variation is currently listed on New Balance US, perhaps pinning the yellow pair as the more limited of the two. We’ll keep this page and our Sneaker Release Dates hub up to date as we get further clarification.
