Matt Varga Over the course of the adidas x CLOT relationship, a few models have emerged from the heavy dose of product as pseudo-signatures for Edison Chen’s new endeavor. In addition to the silken adidas Gazelle, the airy Superstar Breathe is comfortably in that conversation, trotted out in a number of palettes both simplistic and commemorative. Somewhere down the middle comes the CLOT adidas Superstar Breathe in pink, set to release via Juice stores.
The sheer siding that gives the Superstar Breathe its name sticks around for this seasonal affair, as does the faux-vintage off-white treatments on the shell toe and sole. In that section, of course another hallmark in the serrated underfoot traction sticks around, here providing some (literally) sharp contrast to the more delicate palette utilized up top. To avoid belaboring the point, this pair relies on a composition that should be easily digestible to the general public four Breathe releases in, simply flipped for a rosier application bolstered by two pastel lace options on tap.
In this initial announcement, CLOT lays out a staggered release schedule via their JUICE retail locations: The shoe lands early on May 16th for the 15th anniversary of JUICE Taipei, followed by an in-person launch and meet-and-greet at JUICE Causeway Bay on May 21st. A wider launch at all storefronts and online channels comes on May 23rd. As of writing, an adidas.com release is unconfirmed, but if and when it comes to pass, be ready for a $150 retail price.
