The New Balance 1000 Glistens In “Arid Stone”

New Balance’s lifestyle business is firing on all cylinders, with each compartment of this growing business taking key steps forward into the arena dominated by its competitors in Beaverton. While much of the attention is attracted by its collaborative projects and its elevated Made In USA program, much of NB’s uptick in revenue comes from the breadth of readily-available inline models including the New Balance 1000.

Every month, we report on new colorways of its key franchises — the New Balance 9060, New Balance 2002R, and New Balance 1000. The last of that trio seems to be metered more carefully as only a small selection of new options come out every season in comparison to its much more robust counterparts, but it is indeed less of an everyman’s shoe. With its 2000s era inspired design and matte metallic finishes, it’s not exactly a go-with-everything silhouette, but that delicate styling is where the 1000 can truly shine.

This new “Arid Stone” colorway exemplifies that thought, appearing in a tan-grey blend with metallic silver and touches of green on the accents for a bit of a gorp-core, outdoor friendly aesthetic. Simply put, these aren’t your standard grey NBs.

A launch is expected on newbalance.com this Summer/Fall 2025 for $150.
