The New Balance 1500 “Birch” Takes A Page Out Of United Arrows’ Book

The New Balance 1500 “Birch” Takes A Page Out Of United Arrows’ Book

New Balance’s Summer/Fall 2025 line-up continues to trickle outwards. While many of the Made in USA fare brought forward by Teddy Santis’ direction, New Balance still has plenty of in-line models that can stand up to best.

The 1500 model may not have been included in the MiUSA family yet, but does it need to? Established in 1989, the New Balance 1500 has been a fan-favorite amongst runners in its early days and shoe-dogs during its peak run in the 2000s. In fact, true NB fanatics list this silhouette atop the grail list thanks to the works of Solebox, whose “Toothpaste” idea might be one of the best colorway applications of all-time.

This new “Birch” colorway isn’t a collaboration, but whenever this tonal light-tan shade emerges, we’ve got to give credit to Japan’s United Arrows; throughout their partnership with the Boston running shoe brand, the lifestyle apparel brand has championed the monochromatic look, particularly with the 1500 silhouette.

In any case, New Balance is set to bring this Made In England edition to the masses soon for $240.
