DC Comics And Superman Take Over The Classic Clog

Lining up with the "Superman" red carpet.

DC Comics And Superman Take Over The Classic Clog

We’re staring down the 3rd iteration of Superman in the 21st century with James Gunn’s impending film set to start a new chapter in the DC cinematic universe. There’s certainly a cynical takeaway from that media churn, but it’s a testament to the Kryptonian’s iconic status, revisited consistently for new audiences. That generation-spanning aspect is particularly of import as the film’s merchandise starts to trickle out, passing across our desks with the Superman x Crocs Classic Clog coming weeks before the film’s premiere.

You don’t need x-ray vision to spot the ties to the comic franchise on this edition, most visible with the S logo affixed onto the heel strap and with a graphic on the toe. Beneath that pattern on the upper, a blue and black assembly of old school Superman cels, working in some of the franchise’s most iconic catchphrases; “Faster Than A Speeding Bullet” is front and center. A black platform rounds out the design, helping everyday wear become an easier sell despite the superhuman overtones at play.

The Superman x Crocs Classic Clog is set to release on June 26th in adult and GS sizing.
