Updated June 10th, 2025: Stone Island and New Balance have officially unveiled their capsule of Numeric 272 releases, adding blue/navy and yellow/goldenrod colorways onto the initially unveiled white/off-white. All three pairs are expected to hit Stone Island channels on June 18th; retail price is unconfirmed. Though there’s always a chance that certain colorways will remain exclusive to the overseas imprint, a wider New Balance drop is likely to follow shortly afterwards.

Original article published June 3rd, 2025: Stone Island and New Balance are thick as thieves at this point, having found common ground in their overseas adoption and fostering a remarkably consistent relationship in the time since. While much of their output has centered on well-established icons like the 991v2 or 574, the duo’s familiarity with one another now affords the chance to venture into unexplored territory. The impending Stone Island New Balance Numeric 272 accomplishes exactly that, marking their first shared foray into skateboarding.
Stone Island’s makeup of the silhouette is a genuine makeover. The base New Balance Numeric 272 registers as some sensible traditional skate wear, but the British imprint elevates it far beyond those origins. Rather than conventional paneling, there’s a hard break from a suede “mudguard” to a canvas layer reaching the collar. Raised, ridged synthetics replace the flat heel counter, where a jeweled NB numeric logo sits above “Stone Island Marina” branding. All of this is doused in a blend of khaki and off-white, conclusively stamping these as a cut above mainline offerings.
This news comes as New Balance Numeric enjoys a banner year, landing arguably its splashiest announcement with the release of Andrew Reynolds’ New Balance 933 while contributing the requisite dose of collaborations like the one at hand and their link up with NYC’s Bronze56K.
Though concrete release info is hard to come by at this juncture, expect Stone Island and New Balance to reveal launch details in short order. In the meantime, check out early in-hand looks included below.
