Indiana might be the basketball capital of the world…for now. With the NBA’s Pacers currently vying for its first-ever league championship and its WNBA counterpart firmly on the map due to Caitlin Clark’s global stardom, the best of hoops might just flow through Indy. In fact, one of the most anticipated basketball shoe drops remaining in 2025 are inspired by the city. Read on to learn more about the Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 Protro release.
Currently expected to drop this Holiday 2025 season, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Indiana Fever” features a team-focused colorway of dark navy blue, hot crimson, and yellow. Clark first wore these during the 2024 season, with the shoes later being on display during a private Nike Basketball event at the Nike HQ in NYC. Later, it was revealed that Nike would be dropping the shoes as part of its in-line athlete PE program which includes the likes of Jalen Brunson, whose Statue Of Liberty colorway of the Kobe 6 Protro is also expected to launch this Holiday 2025 season.
Beyond the Fever-ish colorway, Nike has kept the spirit of the Black Mamba alive and well through the snakeskin texture on the dark navy overlays. Bright orange-red crimson hits the tongue while also appearing on the gradient heel. All-in-all, these are easily among the best Kobe drops of 2025.
See the official images ahead and stay tuned for further release details; the tentative release date is June 30th, 20th with an expected $190 MSRP.
