The Nike Air Max TL 2.5 Gets Minty Fresh

Arriving this Fall.

The Nike Air Max TL 2.5 Gets Minty Fresh

Is the Air Max TL 2.5 part of Nike’s offense for infiltrating lifestyle trends? It was poised to be one of the favored picks once Nike confirmed its return nearly a year ago, but it hasn’t been able to crack to fold like other OG models like the Air Max 95 and Air Max Plus have. It’s got all the right ingredients, but why hasn’t it been able to graduate to that top tier? We’ll explain.

The Air Max TL 2.5 is indeed a original model from the mid-2000s, but Air Max was firmly planted in its Retro movement at the time. The sneaker community clamored for nothing more than the Big Five (Air Max 1s, 90s, 95s, 97s, and Pluses) and the Swoosh delivered via the Powerwall Pack and its various collaborative initiatives. On an innovative front, all the energy and resources were placed on the Air Max 360, the brand’s first-ever full-length un-chambered Air unit.

So, the Air Max TL 2.5 was never that shoe. It was more gym teacher and assistant coach than shoe-head favorite, but its reintroduction to the masses via the Comme des Garcons collaboration was enough to get us going…for a short period. Now, the silhouette has fallen into the GR factory where new colors get pumped out without any rhyme or reason, destined for markdowns and coppable at nearly half the MSRP (which is what we encourage you to do).

Despite how nice this Air Max TL 2.5 “Mint Foam” is, we recommend you practice patience and wait.
