Nike Is Releasing A Redundant Foamposite In “Deep Royal”

The fanfare around Nike’s re-release of the Galaxy Foamposites was expected to filter throughout 2025, reintroducing the short-lived trend to a new generation of shoe fanatics. Thus far, those projections haven’t been met as the in-line styles of the Foamposite One haven’t quite struck a chord, leaving us to wonder if the colorways are to blame.

This Fall 2025, Nike is bringing another new colorway of the Air Foamposite One awfully similar to the OG “Dark Neon Royal” from 1997. This renders this upcoming “Deep Royal” completely redundant; they neither stand up to the classic nor do they offer anything new. Of all the directions Nike could have gone with, this “Deep Royal” makes little sense.

The subtle differences are there: the blue shade is a bit darker, and the miniature Swoosh on the fore-foot and the 1-cent symbol on the heel aren’t white like the OG. However, it’s not enough differentiation to give these serious consideration. Even a solid black bottom outsole would’ve been an improvement.

A release date hasn’t been confirmed, but these Foamposites are currently penciled in for Fall 2025 (July, August, September). They’ll be available on SNKRS and Nike Sportswear retailers for $250.
