Original article published June 23rd, 2025:

Nike surprised the hoops shoes public earlier this year with news that the Zoom GT Cut 1, the initial step in what’s become an expansive, extremely well-regarded series, would be returning to shelves. Many of the colorways that’ve trickled out in the time since have been reprisals of looks from its introductory run, but perhaps we’re staring down an earnest bring-back rather than just a limited retro run: a fresh Nike Zoom GT Cut 1 “EYBL” edition has just hit the ‘net.

During the model’s original run on shelves, it actually already checked off an EYBL edition, ironically sporting similar color-blocking to the 2025 variation at hand. This one cooks up a far flashier palette, wearing unmissable “Volt” tones as its foundation with veins of “Bright Crimson” slicing through for a “Grinch”-like atmosphere. Given the breakout success that this model had within recreational and pro hoopers alike, it’ll likely come as welcome news that the original tooling package remains in place: including the full-length drop-in React midsole and the Zoom strobel.

Though most of the tournament’s special product remains exclusive to actual participants, official images of the Nike Zoom GT Cut 1 “EYBL” is an indication that this pair will be hitting the public.
