Andrew Rizzo After a three-year hiatus, hit Netflix show Stranger Things will finally see its fifth and final season this November, concluding a small town tale that began nearly a decade ago (feel old yet?). To mark the occasion, Stranger Things is reconvening with Nike on a Dunk Low capsule rooted in 1980s nostalgia.
The first Stranger Things x Nike capsule rolled out in 2019, coinciding roughly with the show’s third season. Befitting the show’s 1980s time setting, the partnership has focused exclusively on models that could theoretically be worn by the Stranger Things characters; the Nike Cortez, Blazer, and Tailwind. With season five set to take place in 1987, the Nike Dunk (released in 1985) stands as an appropriate choice.
Two Stranger Things Dunks are expected to release later this year, one of which has already emerged courtesy of @yyt_snkrs. Saddled with an exhaustive palette of “Phantom/Midnight Navy/College Grey/Varsity Red/Lemon Drop/Dark Smoke Grey,” the sneaker features vintage-inspired cracked leather and a pre-dirtied midsole. As has become a hallmark of all Stranger Things shoes, mirrored Nike logos appear on the tongue, collar, and backtab. The other Stranger Things Dunk reportedly features a “Black/Speed Red/Varsity Red/Anthracite” palette, but no images have surfaced as of this writing.
The Stranger Things Nike Dunks don’t have a firm release date yet, but it’s likely both colorways will coincide with the show’s final season during the Holiday 2025 shopping window. See detailed images of the “Phantom/Midnight Navy” colorway below as anticipation builds.
