Another day, another Nike Air Max 95 banger poised to return from the brand’s archives. Following rumors of its return, a first look at the Air Max 95 “Black Border” aka “Emerald” has emerged.
Originally released in 1996, the “Black Border” 95 differs from the model’s tried-and-true gradient style with alternating black and white striped sidewalls. Teal “Emerald” accents appear on the tongue, Swoosh logos, and big bubble Air units underfoot, fulfilling a 90s-esque retro vibe that’s just as compelling today as it was three decades ago. These are largely thought of as one of the best and most elusive 95s of all time; two qualities that have only added to their legend.
The Air Max 95 “Black Border” is scheduled to release Fall 2025 (meaning between July-September), but no official date has been set at the time of this writing. We’ll go live with another update once official images/concrete drop details emerge.
