adidas Stays Focused On The Y2K Era With The Megaride S2

The wonderfully quirky running tech of the 2000s has found new life in today’s modern lifestyle sneaker economy. While Nike keeps pushing Shox back into the fold, adidas has been answering back with old and new models from its Megaride line. Joining the Megaride A3, Predator Megaride, and upcoming Megaride AG in the Three Stripes’ Y2K sneaker category is Megaride S2; a new silhouette that brings retro running and modern lifestyle aesthetics to a helm.

Shown here via images by Packer Shoes, adidas’ global lead for the Megaride S2 rollout, the model features a molded rubber cage over a mesh upper. The laces are shielded by a zippered shroud, while adidas’ patented Megaride cushioning tech moves into the heel section underfoot. Adding just a dash of lifestyle shoe sensibility, the tongue and backtab feature black patent leather.

The adidas Megaride S2 is available now via adidas.com in two colorways; a gradient “Core Black/Hi-Res Blue/Purple” look and more low-key “Off White/Core Black/Matte Silver” option. Packer Shoes will host its launch on Wednesday, July 23rd; see our Where To Buy sections below for pricing info and purchase links.
