The best look yet at the highly-awaited model.

adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Blue Fusion” Releases On October 25th

If you put any stock into social media comments (generally a losing battle, but we digress), the public sentiment has been “give us the Anthony Edwards 2” for quite some time. Indeed, perhaps reflecting a general industry development as seen with Nike’s Book 1, the Anthony Edwards 1 has been on the shelves for far longer than the usual 1 year life cycle. It would appear that the dawn of the regular season will finally bring us the long-awaited follow-up model, and in-hand looks at the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Blue Fusion” provide our best look at the model to date.

Previous looks have largely mapped out the design for Ant’s next model, removing the now-iconic honeycomb synthetics on the sidewalls and instead replacing them with vent-like TPU anchors at the heel are forefoot. Mesh is instead the material choice on the sidewalls, while the rubber toe-cap from the inaugural edition does remain. Finally, the inner bootie composition and overall futuristic vision that’s defined many of the fresh faces in the adidas Basketball roster help connect the future of the line to its present.

Capitalizing on the Timberwolves’ trademark royal blue and lime, this pair lands in the hands of @crosbykicks, bonafide hooper and sneaker reviewer who helps elucidate some of the tech specs on offer here. LIGHTSTRIKE, LIGHT BOOST, and EVA make up the cushioning package, while a slimmer herringbone pattern defines the traction underfoot. There, you’ll also find a torsion plate jutting through the center of the outsole.

As mentioned above, the adidas Anthony Edwards 2 “Blue Fusion” releases on October 25th, expected to retail for arrive in mens’, GS, and PS sizing ($130 / $100 / $80).
