Andrew Rizzo The ongoing run of Kobe Bryant Nike Air Force 1 releases has opened the door for Kobe Brand to experiment with other retro silhouettes. In 2026, the Nike Dunk Low will officially enter the Kobe Bryant shoe pantheon by way of a “Draft Day” colorway rooted in Mamba lore.
Per Sneaker Files, the Kobe Bryant Nike Dunk will be a Protro release and therefore feature an updated cushioning package. While unconfirmed as of this writing, it’s likely the sneaker will feature drop-in ReactX foam insoles a la the aforementioned Kobe Air Force 1s.
As we’re all surely aware, Kobe was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets but never actually laced up for the franchise. Charlotte shipped the 17-year-old off for veteran center Vlade Divac on draft day, a move that’s largely thought of as one of the worst sports trades ever. That piece of Mamba trivia has inspired a whole slew of “Draft Day” Kobes featuring Hornets colors, namely a Kobe 4, Kobe 6, and plenty more. The upcoming Kobe Dunk is said to feature a palette of “Fierce Purple/Blue Lagoon-Sail,” which aligns well with the “Draft Day” colorway as we’ve come to know it. Importantly, the shoe’s color blocking and special detailing are unknown as of this writing. The speculative mockup below should be referenced as a rough guide and is far from a definitive outcome.
