Ronnie Fieg Reveals The Kith x adidas Superstar “Black Tie 2.0”

Longtime heads were active during Ronnie Fieg’s true breakout into the sneaker mainstream, as he and his KITH imprint helped kick off a suede runner reinassance with their work on silhouettes like the ASICS GEL-Lyte 5 or New Balance 1500. Longer time heads remember the steps that led to the founding of his brand in the first place, a collaborative streak that began in 2007 when Fieg served as the head buyer and a lead creative for NYC retailer David Z.

In that nascent era, Fieg marked off his first collaboration with adidas in the only place that’d feel right: on the adidas Superstar. We’ve noted on many an occasion now that the Three Stripes has been laser focused on celebrating the legacy of the Shell Toe all throughout 2025, so returning to the “Black Tie” concept is natural at this juncture.

Where this 2025 edition chiefly breaks from its decade-plus older sibling is in the branding and heel cup, returning to a more traditional white-on-black Superstar arrangement rather than a comprehensive darkened profile. Nonetheless, similar material touches that allow the streetstyle icon to “dress up”are the true draw under the hood; the Made in Germany product relies on dress shoe leather, waxed laces, a patent leather toe, and debossed branding.

As you’ll see in the below gallery, friends and family packages containing the KITH x adidas Superstar “Black Tie 2.0” are already assembled and going out to Fieg’s inner circle. A wider release (with “limited pairs”) will come as a part of the KITH Fall/Winter 2025 collection. Retail pricing is not yet known.
