BSTN Continues Its “O.G. With A Twist” Series With The adidas Handball Spezial

Nearly two years ago, BSTN debuted its “O.G. With A Twist” concept as part of the epic adidas Consortium Cup, a global tournament that challenged the world’s foremost retailers in a battle for bragging rights. The German boutique stunned with its Samba, delivering a finely crafted take on the silo with soft nubucks, glossy patents, lightweight textiles, and chenille patches on the tongue.

Later this month, BSTN will bridge that long gap with their next project, delivering a fine-tuned modification of the Spezial in two ways, presenting never-before-seen combinations of materials and design features on the low-pro silhouette. Even more, they’ve tapped football royalty in Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero to present the collaboration to the public for the first time, exclusively on Sneaker News.

While you can expect top-tier materials in typical BSTN fashion (they use premium leather uppers), it’s the curved overlays and the custom “O.G. With A Twist” tongue patches that add new dimensions to the Handball Spezial. Two stunner colorways of Off White and Black are packaged in custom shoeboxes featuring illustrations by Theodoros Giannitsacis, a close compadre of the BSTN family; the drawings portray a gentleman spinning a basketball on his finger to nod to BSTN’ basketball DNA.
