“Pink Glow” Shines On The Nike Air Max 90

A simple yet impactful flip.

“Pink Glow” Shines On The Nike Air Max 90

Most of the attention towards the Swoosh’s visible Air line has gone to the Air Max 95 this year. Rightfully so, given the weight that Beaverton has placed behind Sergio Lozano’s line in its 30th year on shelves, propelled by the return of the OG-like “Big Bubble” and internet-breaking collaborations with Levi’s, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and for its latest trick, PHANTCI.

Yet you can’t entirely give the AM95 its flowers without acknowledging the standard-bearers that came before it. Even if it hasn’t had the same level of attention as its younger brother, the Nike Air Max 90 has enjoyed its 35th year in much the same way it has the 34 that came before it. Remaining eminently stylish, the shoe has taken to a sensible, clean slate of general release colorways, often playing off the blocking of its totemic “Infrared.”

All of that brings us to the Nike Air Max 90 “Pink Glow,” another instance where those original ’90s builds loom large, as the ridged TPU sections and branding notes shift from high alert red to delicate pink. In many ways, this should offer the same blend of feminine tonality and OG aesthetics that a shoe like the “Pink Foam” Air Max 95 put forth — without the need to duke it out on the SNKRS app or put in a raffle entry.

If that prompt appeals to you, look for the Nike Air Max 90 “Pink Glow” touching down via Nike.com sometime in the coming weeks. Women’s sizing and a $140 retail price are expected.
