Andrew Rizzo Following news of a key Air Max Plus Golf collaboration by Eastside Golf releasing in October, the golf version of Sean McDowell’s cult classic silhouette is rounding out its run of original colorways that began with the “Sunset” in January. We got the “Hyper Blue” in the summer, and now, as we’ve all been waiting for, the “Voltage Purple” has arrived to close out a mini run of OG gradient looks.
The Air Max Plus Golf here reprises an Air Max Plus colorway that originally released in 1998. The titular “Voltage Purple” hue appears in gradient fashion up top, punctuated by orange Swoosh logos and yellow Air bubbles (the Air Max Plus proper actually features orange accents). For what it’s worth, the non-golf version of this colorway returned last year and can currently be copped on aftermarket sites for well under retail. Key golf-specific enhancements include a tighter mesh fabric that’s more resistant to water and other conditions, along with a new tread pattern akin to that of a hiking shoe—better suited for any terrain you might encounter on the course.
