Likely coming soon.

ASICS And Australia’s Up There Tend Budding Relationship With The GEL-Kayano 12.1

It’ll take many more chapters in their shared story for Up There to join faces like Ronnie Fieg or Kiko Kostadinov in the conversation of “most important ASICS collaborators ever.” Even if we’ll stop short of making that weighty claim, we can celebrate the brand’s impact with the Japanese giant to date, continuing to strike on a consistent basis after their initial GT-II in 2022. The Australian imprint has plenty of cheer to spread for its latest, the ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1.

The news of this collab pair comes as Up There states down fifteen years of business, something they’ve taken to their social media channels to tease and commemorate in recent weeks. Perhaps this ASICS edition was plotted as a part of a birthday surprise for their fans — and in that case, we’re sorry for spoiling — but you wouldn’t garner that from the official image suite that’s hit the ASICS server. Indeed, outside of a tag towards the rear and co-branded insoles, there are few ties to the Up There name in general. They instead focus their energy on elevating a largely neutrally shaded do-up of the GEL-Kayano 12.1, primarily achieving that with olive patent leather, a strong contrast to the steely circular mesh a layer below.

Again, Up There hasn’t provided info on this ASICS GEL-Kayano 12.1 just yet, but in reading the tea leaves, a drop queued up with their September 30th celebration seems likely. In any case, official images surfacing in this capacity typically indicate that a release is around the corner. Catch those included below and watch our Sneaker Release Dates page for further info.
