adidas SPZL stalwart Gary Aspden has had a busy year, juggling key projects with Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis as well as managing the arrival of SPZL F.C., a range of football shoes designed to bring SPZL’s archival eye to the pitch. Still, the Three Stripes’ sub-brand continues to roll out fresh seasonal collections as usual — and dare we say the brand’s Fall/Winter 2025 slate is one of the most compelling we’ve seen in recent memory.
As all adi-fanatics surely know, adidas SPZL — founded in 2014 — delivers new silhouettes inspired by the brand’s vast and far-reaching archive. Six silhouettes make up the latest adidas Spezial batch: the Grisedale, GS II, Lytham, München II, NY II Outdoor, and Samoa II. The collection does a fine job of delivering both familiar names and true rarities, namely the Grisedale hiking boot and Lytham boat shoe, with every model aside from the GS II favoring muted earth tones.
