As Kevin Durant works through the back nine of his storied NBA career, questions like whether he’ll add another NBA title to his resume are at the fore, but the background noise no doubt revolves around where he’ll end up in the record books when it’s all said and done. Poised to leapfrog Michael Jordan in the all-time scoring list, Durant has fittingly begun to dig into his history within the bounds of his signature line.
Having poured out odes to his hometown of Seat Pleasant, as well as his pro teams in Seattle and OKC, the future Hall of Famer returned to where his star began to truly “rise” with a KD 18 of the same name. For those fluent in Durant’s sneaker catalog, it was a look that recalled his halcyon 2010s era, already in the consciousness with the ongoing bring-back effort for the Nike KD 4.
Confirmed ahead of time by a Swoosh showcase/preview, the Nike KD 4 “Texas” finally goes from alluded-to predecessor to earnestly represented retro, now surfacing with detailed retailer shots. In the same way that similarly cherished editions like the “Nerf,” “Weatherman,” or “Scoring Title” returned without much tinkering, the exterior aesthetic of the shoe remains intact, cooking up the patented combo of “Desert Orange” and white while planting the Longhorns logo on the tongue.
If picking up this pair is in the cards for you, you’ll have the chance to do so on October 24th. The Nike KD 4 “Texas” in this renewed version arrives with a $135 retail price.
