We can’t talk about the Anthony Edwards 2 without first discussing the Anthony Edwards 1. Ant’s first signature charted highly on top ten sneaker of the year lists across our community in 2024, due in no small part to adidas’ extraordinary marketing — which was more about letting Ant be Ant rather than getting overly nuanced. In that regard, the Anthony Edwards 2 is already keeping the line’s momentum going, with adidas releasing several commercials reminiscent of Spike Lee’s work with Jordan in the ’90s. adidas also chose to unveil the sneaker during Ant’s first-ever China tour, which gave us plenty of viral moments.
How does the Anthony Edwards 2 differ from the Anthony Edwards 1?
There are several key differences between Ant’s first and second adidas sneakers, the main one being that the AE1 actually debuted as a Mid (although the Low would later become more popular). While the Anthony Edwards 1 featured a hefty TPU honeycomb structure, the 2 opts for a more mixed composition featuring quilted mesh, synthetic materials, and even carbon fiber at the heel.

The Anthony Edwards 2 “With Love” is inspired by Ant’s Georgia roots, featuring a peachy combination of “Acid Orange/Core Black/Acid Red.”
