Andrew Rizzo Edison Chen is at a point in his sneaker journey where he’s focused on creating footwear from the ground up — not just offering mere color touch-ups. That’s exactly what was promised when CLOT partnered with adidas in 2023, that’s exactly what we’ve gotten from the actor-turned-entrepreneur’s work with the Three Stripes thus far. Joining reimaginings of the Stan Smith, Superstar, Gazelle, and more is the adidas Pro Model, here given a rugged, winterized makeover just in time for the cooler months.
The adidas Pro Model — a key part of adidas’ basketball legacy from the 1960s and ’70s — is here outfitted with a slew of thoughtful upgrades. First, the outsole is swapped for a ripple sole, a design element that has appeared on several of Chen’s reworks of the adidas Superstar, including the first release of the current partnership in early 2024. Two layers of leather welting follow suit, while the upper is modified with differently sized perforations and a leather shell toe to build on a more formal, dressy aesthetic. Metallic gold eyelets and rope laces further the shoe’s winter boot sensibility, complemented by a padded suede collar.
Two colorways of the CLOT x adidas Pro Model Boot are set to release in 2025: “Mineral Blue” and “Dark Brown.” Expect pairs to launch via Edison Chen’s JUICE store as well as adidas CONFIRMED. See official images below if you’re considering adding these to your rotation.
