Andrew Rizzo We’re approaching the end of golf season in our corner of the states (and Nike’s, for that matter), but the Beaverton brand’s golf category operates year-round. Striking an aesthetic opposite to more formal silhouettes like the Victory Tour 4, Nike Golf continues to focus heavily on retooled Air Max classics – including golf-ready versions of the Air Max 1, Air Max Plus, and, for our purposes, the Air Max 90, which now appears in a fresh “Silver Pine/Bicoastal” colorway for Holiday 2025.
Compared to its reimagined counterparts, the Air Max 90 Golf strays furthest from its original form. Gone are the model’s suede quarter panels and leather mudguard, replaced by synthetic materials for a sleeker, more lightweight appearance reminiscent of the Air Max Lunar90 from the mid-2000s. The eyestays, mudguard window, and heel badge are also thinner, though not as flush with the shoe’s mesh base as the aforementioned synthetic overlays. The most important golf-specific change comes underfoot, where a grippier tread pattern replaces the standard outsole to provide better traction on grass, sand, or any terrain you might encounter on the course.
