This adidas BW Army Pack Is Already Well Worn

adidas has been pushing the BW Army (better known as the adidas GATs) heavily in 2025, unleashing essential black and white colorways as well as a handful of militaristic styles that put fresh yet fitting spins on the German Army Trainer silhouette. This latest drop looks like it’s already seen its fair share of service time — a new two-pair pack featuring distressed, cracked leather.

For the uninitiated, this silhouette was originally commissioned by the West German Army in the 1970s and created by either adidas or PUMA (nobody is really 100% sure — because, as always, these two German companies born out of an intense brotherly dispute still hate each other). In lieu of any firm info about who created the shoe, no company is able to copyright the silhouette, and therefore anyone can make their own version — with Maison Margiela’s Replica sneaker being the most significant reinterpretation.

Following a BW Army “Canvas Pack” back in August, the Three Stripes is continuing to embrace military themes with a two-pack consisting of cracked leather styles — perhaps akin to what original 1970s pairs might look like today. Black and light grey colorways are on tap, both of which feature the standard brown gum outsole.

The adidas BW Army “Cracked Leather” pack is already available overseas, meaning a stateside arrival is likely right around the corner. We’ll post from the @sneakernews X account as soon as pairs become available. Budget for a $120 retail price if you’re set on copping.
