Fumito Ganryu Brings The PUMA Mostro To Life With ALIVEFORM

Fumito Ganryu and his eponymous label are earnest footwear veterans at this point, but the broad sneaker public may not recognize that without more digestible collaborations. To fulfill that, the Japanese designer has turned to PUMA to begin building out a shared history, just revealing their second-ever in the two-shoe Fumito Ganryu x PUMA Mostro capsule.

Having studied under the tutelage of Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe, the monochromatic atmosphere of his second PUMA link-up shouldn’t shock. What will is the extended, extreme platform sole utilized on the first of two PUMA Mostro do-ups, delivered with the help of 3D printing outfit ALIVEFORM. They and the Japanese label take the spiked traction of the Mostro and truly take it for a ride, adding stippled details in the upper if the massive stack height underfoot wasn’t enough to grab your attention.

The more radical dressers out there will undoubtedly be satisfied by the first half of this collection, but we have a hunch that the vast majority will instead focus on adding its second to their closets. The second Fumito Ganryu x PUMA is more traditional in its composition, building its foundation out of the base layout of the racing silhouette. A pull closure and tight mesh upper are the most significant transformations, of course, holding onto the “Triple Black” colorway set up by its predecessor.

Expect the Fumito Ganryu x PUMA Mostro to land via the fashion imprint’s site and PUMA JP sometime in the coming weeks. Info regarding a global launch is, for now, largely unclear.
