An “Eclipse” Casts On The New Balance 1906U

Dropping October 13th.

An “Eclipse” Casts On The New Balance 1906U

How many ways does New Balance love the 1906? Let us count the ways: the original “R” build, the pull-tabbed “F,” the “Protection Pack” “D,” loafer-ized “L,” the deconstructed “A,” the thinned-out “W,” and of course, the extra-layered “U.” The bevy of options that the brand has put on the table necessarily means that some of those have ebbed and flowed in the catalog, the 1906U falling into the former half of that equation in recent weeks.

Which makes the appearance of the New Balance 1906U “Eclipse” somewhat unexpected. With the reinforced build of the shoe making the shoe fit for harsher environments already, the stealthy blend of black leather underlays and deep blues throughout is only a natural choice, broken up by lighter hits of grey and white in reserve roles around the profile.

Many of the recent 1906U pairs we’ve seen have been retailer-exclusive or retailer-assisted. Though the brand reverses that by making the New Balance 1906U “Eclipse” exclusive to NB channels, it’s overall consistent with a more limited engagement strategy with the silhouette. Expect an NB.com drop on October 13th with MSRP set at $155.
